A story with superpowers: Helping our friend the Earth

We made the design, layout and illustration of an educational story about SDGs

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are the protagonists of this educational story by FABRE Foundation and Ramón Salvador to introduce the goals planned by United Nations for the 2030 Agenda at schools and so to rouse curiosity about development cooperation on kids.

Illustrations to make the story’s comprehension easier

This educational material was created for primary education teachers to explain SDGs to their youngest students in a different way, as an entertaining superheroes story. Considering the audience they are aimed at, we created a page structure with a big text on the left page and an illustration on the right one, to complement the story with visual and colorful resources which helped make the message more understandable.

Color is the protagonist

We customized each of the illustrations based on the content of the story, and we applied a colorful background to make it more striking and attractive. Besides, each group of pages includes the SDG the text refers to as the story unfolds, wrapped in a superhero cape.

A short story full of visual resources

The result of the project was the printing of a short and easy-to-read pocket-story. It is being used at plenty of schools all around Spain. All the visual resources used were created specifically for the project, which is now part of other education for development materials launched by FABRE Foundation and which we have designed at Calmo, such as the SDGs tales website, iDeas2030 initiative or #BeTheChange project.
